Free courses are a great way for teachers to continue their education.

1. Dixie State College (usu.edu)

Dixie State College of Utah offers several free elementary education courses for teachers. The Methods in Science course is specifically designed for pre-service teachers, but the Professional Portfolio Development Seminar is perfect for any teacher who wants to build a portfolio that supports his or her teaching methods.

2. Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (paec.org)

The Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC) has made a vide variety of U. S. Department of Education's Teacher-to-Teacher Workshops available to the general public. The workshops are delivered in a streaming-video format and last about two hours each.

3. United Star Distance Learning Consortium (ncpublicschools.org)

The United Star Distance Learning Consortium (USDLC) allows educators in any school system to access professional development courses and resources. Online courses, on-demand videos and eField trips are just a few of the things teachers can check out free of charge.
